About Us

Mission

The mission of Reach Out to Educate is to support education for financially disadvantaged children in rural Cambodia.

History

In 2006, Dr. Lahar began working with a Cambodian organization (Young Generation Organization) that supports children in the village of Phdao Chum, in Kompong Cham Province in Cambodia. When speaking about the project back home, friends and organizations were eager to support these children and larger and larger donations were being offered.

Reach Out to Educate (ROTE) was created to direct these generous contributions Dr. Lahar was receiving from those who wish to alleviate some of the challenges children have in Cambodia. Six founding board members developed the by-laws for a non-profit charity and incorporated Reach Out to Educate in the State of Maine early in 2009. Later that year, ROTE achieved 501(c)3 tax status, EIN# 26-4105350, DLN: 17053167051029. Now we are accepting donations that are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
